Regional Rx Taskforce of Strafford County

In response to the health epidemic of prescription drug abuse in our region, stakeholders convened in April, 2012 to hear from State and area experts on the devastating effects of prescription drug access, drug diversion and overdoses felt throughout our hospitals, medical facilities, police departments, jails, and morgues.

ONE Voice, along with area partners began to meet monthly to determine how best to develop community responses to this wide-spread issue.  The meetings are held at Goodwin Community Health on the second Friday of each month, from 9am-10:30am.  Minutes and agendas, along with work products will be posted regularly in this section. Medical Provider Video-Vigilant Patient Visit

Members of the Rx Taskforce teamed up to produce a short video illustrating the importance of screening in medical settings.  Video Talent New England donated substantial time to this project and worked with Jason Lucey, ARNP and Wendy Pressly, RN and Tom Barnes of Pain Care, who wrote the script.  The 9 minute video demonstrates how medical providers can implement strategies to prevent drug diversion among patients while awaiting the implementation of the NH Prescription Monitoring Program.  To watch the video click HERE.
