Positive Pathways to Prevention of Greater Portsmouth is teaming up with Chucky’s Fight to jump in the ocean at Rye Beach to raise money for substance prevention! Positive Pathways to Prevention , covering Greenland, New Castle, Newington, Portsmouth, and Rye youth, will be co-hosting the “Plunge for Prevention” on December 31, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Rye Beach. The fundraiser’s goal is to highlight the “high-risk day” by making people aware of alcohol and drug prevention.
The Child and Family Project Success Program(formerly Student Assistance Program) at Portsmouth High School continues to be utilized by many students. Student Assistance Counselor, Marci Albert, has provided direct services to more than 60 youth within the school this year.

R-Squared is a 12-week intervention which challenges students to weigh the risks and rewards of their decisions. R-squared directly aligns to the priorities set by both Region F and Region J, to increase youth perception of risk and harm specifically around alcohol, marijuana, prescription drugs and over the counter drugs.

And that's exactly what members of Students Taking Action in Rochester (STAR) were trying to avoid. So they set up a Battle of the Bands — complete with free pizza and french fries — and invited Spaulding High School students to support their peers and hang out after school.
