Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign

For those driving southbound on Route 16, just before the Dover tolls on the northbound side, we hope you have caught a glimpse of our billboard addressing the issue of teenage prescription drug abuse. The 2009 Youth Risk Behavior Survey found more than 20 percent of high school students have used prescription drugs (OxyContin, Percocet, Vicodin, Adderall, Ritalin, or Xanax) in their lifetime without a doctor’s prescription, with more than 10 percent having said they have used prescription drugs to get high in the last 30 days.

Prescription Drug Abuse Awareness Campaign

Prescription drugs are readily available, especially to those who have never used a street drug. Generating awareness is key to staying on top of this growing threat and we hope Libby calls attention to the abuse of prescription drugs for kids and parents. Libby could be your kid or the kids next door.

Alcohol and Underage Drinking Sticker Shock Campaign

In order to make the public aware of the dangers of alcohol and underage drinking, Y2Y students often go into stores and apply a variety of warning stickers on six-packs, bottles of wine, and cases of beer that carry prevention messages about alcohol.

During the summer training program students created two stickers that they are currently using in stores. Sample stickers are displayed below.
